WHAT DO WE DO?

NitroPortugal, an H2020 European project!

Strengthening Portuguese research and innovation capacities in the area of excess reactive nitrogen.

SINCE 2016 STUDYING THE ROLE OF NITROGEN IN PORTUGAL.

We study the role of nitrogen in agriculture and environment in Portugal.

We propose solutions to reduce pollution caused by excess nitrogen in the environment.

We mapped areas of Portugal with higher nitrogen pollution in the water,

in the air and in ecosystems.

We have identified the protected and vulnerable areas with the highest risk of nitrogen pollution.

WE CONTINUE TO GUARANTEE…

The NitroPortugal project maintains public reflection on the two sides of nitrogen:

* Its critical role for life

(builds amino acids, proteins and DNA)

* The consequences of excess nitrogen in the environment!

Team

WE WANT …

To seek for solutions for inefficiencies in the entire chain associated with the sector.

Create an agricultural production with a low nitrogen footprint.
